This shop has been on my list because I read it’s a top rated ice cream shop and I was eager to try it out. My friend and I were headed to a restaurant to celebrate my best friend’s birthday but we had time to try out some ice cream. I’m so glad we did. I was amazed when I entered this shop. I loved that the shop has a vast space. It didn’t look like your typical ice cream shop. I was in awe when I saw all the unique flavors. The moment saw the banana pudding flavor she immediately chose that one. She loved it. Every flavor looked delicious to me. I chose Morning in Paris because it was croissant butter swirled with raspberry jam. It was so delicious! Sadly we couldn’t try the doughnuts because they are only available on the weekends. The staff were super friendly to us. My friend and I agree we will come back. I’m bringing all my closest friends to try out the ice cream. I know they will love it. I highly recommend this ice cream shop. I hope everyone comes to try it out.
Amazing Customer Service. We could try a lil sample of the flavors before choosing. It made the experience a little less intimidating with the variety of amazing and different options.
Chose:
-Mango sorbet/Island
-Banana pudding/red velvet
Favorite Brooklyn ice cream spot! Employees were super friendly and all of the flavors we tried have been amazing. Recently tried a milkshake with Coffee flake and chocolate mint flake, was delicious. Very kid friendly location.
Extremely hot the day I went here immediately ice cream was pit in the cup it melted in a couple seconds. Unfortunately, it's very messy but tastes good. The kids' area was very thoughtful
If you like their sister shop Ample Hills, you’ll like this place as it’s the same quality. Fun retro interior with a slight hole in the wall vibe that has some booths and chairs. A lot of unique flavors! I had the caramel one and the one with strawberry jam. You can also sample before buying. Friendly staff! Wanted to try the donuts, but they didn’t have any when I was there but will try again next time.
If you’ve been to Ample Hill then the Social is very close to you might experience there. It is created by the same people. They have so many flavors of ice cream, they also do soda floats and donut sundaes.
There’s a few seats on the inside and on the outside there is a lawn like seating with some lounge chairs. I got the “Oh My Captain, My Captain, which is a mix of fruity pebbles and maybe vanilla ice cream. It tasted like cereal milk to me and that’s always the best party so I enjoyed it.
They have lots of adventurous flavors as well as more basic ones like Vanilla and Chocolate. There’s something for everyone!
PS: if you are lactose, they have lactaid pills in the front for $.50 cents
Brilliant ice cream and a wonderful place to enjoy it (especially for kids, they have a nice little playground inside and a pinball machine). Top 5 in New York and best in Brooklyn for me.
20+ flavors (4 vegan), amazing slightly stretchy texture, great flavors (many with interesting mix ins), unlimited sampling and decent prices (2 scoops for $6.25, 3 for $8). They allow sell swag, milkshakes, floats donuts, hot and cold drinks, and even beer and wine. Ample comfortable indoor and outdoor seating.
My favorites were the banana pudding, chocolate fudge and crossiants with raspberry jam (morning in Paris). Staff were also really friendly and helpful.
Beautiful new ice cream shop—creatively designed with careful craftsmanship. So much thought and love clearly go into the shops the owners Jackie and Brian create. The Social is the most lovely and enchanted of their work thus far, in my personal experience. The ice creams are unique, inspired, especially delicious, and it’s awesome they are open late every night, working hard to ensure everyone gets a chance to be a part of the magic. The passion and dedication to local farms, locally made coffee, and to a true connection with the community also stand testament to their greatness.
